First batch of non-transgenic soymeal arrives at Tegel in New Zealand

(Oct. 8, 2001 – CropChoice news) – Last month CropChoice reported that Tegel, the largest poultry company in New Zealand and part of the Heinz Company, announced that the chickens it buys will be raised on non-transgenic feed. The first shipment of that soymeal has arrived. It came thousands of miles, from Nebraska. Tegel uses about 40,000 tons of the meal per year.
