Italians seize more Monsanto soybean seed

(April 10, 2001 --Cropchoice news) -- Italian authorities have seized 88 tons of soybean seed at a Monsanto warehouse in northern Italy. They suspect that the seed is transgenic, the open-field cultivation of which Italy prohibits.

This comes a couple of weeks after the Italians confiscated transgenic soybean and corn seed at a Monsanto facility.
