EPA approves re-registration of Syngenta's Bt corn

(Oct. 16, 2001 – CropChoice news) – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has re-registered Syngenta’s NK(R) Brand Bt corn for the next seven years; this includes the protocol that the company and farmers must follow to prevent insects from developing resistance to Bt.

The Agency had approved the re-registration of Bt cotton at the beginning of October, but chose to hold off on Bt corn action for two weeks to give the public more time to comment.
