Syngenta invests in Diversa (Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002 -- CropChoice news) -- Reuters: ZURICH - Syngenta AG, the world's largest agrochemicals firm, said on Wednesday it will take an 18 percent stake in Diversa Corp. as part of a biotechnology research venture with the U.S. drug developer. Diversa is to get technology rights from Syngenta for pharmaceutical applications as part of the deal. Under terms of the accord, which underscores Syngenta's increasing emphasis on its biotechnology operations, the two firms will combine their research to push forward plant science products and selected antibodies.
