Earth to U.S. Trade Rep: European consumers don't want genetically modified food

(April 3, 2002 – CropChoice news) – Still singing the blues, the U.S. Trade Representative complained that the United States has lost more than $200 million in corn exports per year since 1998 when the European Union imposed a moratorium on the importation of genetically modified crops.

Instead of complaining and threatening action in the World Trade Organization, maybe the answer for the U.S. government is to stop supporting the commercialization and planting of transgenic crops, or at the very least label them and the foods that contain them.
