Prosecution rests case against Tyson in immigrant-smuggling trial

(Friday, March 14, 2003 -- CropChoice news) -- just-food.com: Prosecutors in the immigrant-smuggling trial of US meat processor Tyson Foods have rested their case against the company.

During the prosecution’s case, a former manager at a Tyson poultry plant admitted being aware of hiring illegal workers, although he claimed he never personally inspected employee hiring records.

It is now the turn of Tyson’s defence attorneys, who say they expect their case to take two weeks, reported the Associated Press.
