Aventis destroys transgenic rice

(May 21, 2001 – CropChoice news) – Aventis this week began burying 5 million pounds of transgenic rice that a Texas farmer grew under contract. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved the rice for domestic consumption. But abroad, the rice has neither approval nor consumer acceptance.
