Gene-manipulated Seeds: Are We losing Our Food Security Too? (9/7/2004) Washington and London are united not only on policy in Iraq. Tony Blair and George W. Bush also agree that the world should be saturated with gene-manipulated (GM) or genetically-engineered crops and seeds. Its advocates, including major chemical giants Monsanto, Syngenta, DuPont and Bayer, claim that GM crops are the answer to world hunger, and promise food security to growing populations. Astonishing enough, the claims are made in the absence of almost any serious independent scientific long-term study of the effects of GM crops on animal or human organisms.

They came from scientists' laboratories (9/2/2004) Scientists have been looking far and wide into space for alien life forms for a long time. Now they don't have to look so far. Their colleagues in biotechnology have been hard at work producing these life forms in the lab, and have brought them out in the open where they proliferate in many places around the globe.
